  • Katie grew up in Wellesley, MA where she began dancing at the age of three. She trained at two local dance studios in the following styles of dance: ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, and acrobatics. She began teaching her own dance classes at age sixteen. After high school, Katie attended Roger Williams University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in May, 2014, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Performance Studies and a minor in Biology. During her time at RWU, she worked with numerous choreographers from across New England, New York, Europe, and Asia.

Upon graduating from RWU, Katie began teaching at dance studios in the Greater-Boston area as well as the South Shore. She also teaches dance classes in public and private schools in and around Boston (both during the school day and after-school).

Around the same time that she started a career in dance education, Katie pursued opportunities to dance professionally in Boston. She was a member of Rainbow Tribe, Inc. from 2014-2021, and has also danced with two smaller contemporary companies: Grant Jacoby and Dancers and Penumbra:RME from 2014-2015. While in Rainbow Tribe, Inc. she choreographed a number of dances for their annual performances, and gradually took on more leadership roles and responsibilities throughout the years.

Being Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Mosaic Dance Inc. has been an incredible honor. Katie is so excited to see where this chapter of her life will take her!

  • Henry "kidspin" Kasdon loves to dance. Whether at a party, onstage, in class, a battle or a video; he's always ready to break it down. Combining his athletic experience and love for music, he started out his dance career as a freshman at Tufts University in 1998 as a Breaker. He quickly spread into all styles of hip hop, and throughout his college career he expanded into jazz, modern, and various cultural dances. After graduating in 2002, Henry joined Rainbow Tribe and began teaching hip hop at Boston University and Harvard University. In the following years he expanded to various elementary schools, high schools and dance studios. He has spent time teaching for Boston Ballet, Berklee College of Music, and Boston Conservatory. He was featured in the only Boston episode of MTV's My Super Sweet 16. In 2008 Henry co-founded Bside and has been Director ever since. Along with his ongoing classes, he teaches master classes all over New England under the Hip Hop Umbrella. From breaking to boogaloo, reggae, funk and krump, he works on both choreography and freestyling. As a DJ, drummer, filmmaker, property manager, coach, husband and father, he has a full life - but there is always time to dance. Henry continues to be the director of Bside with Mosaic Dance Inc.

In addition to dance, she was avid in musical theatre in high school; performing in Once On This Island as Ti Moune, and Footloose as Rusty. Upon undergrad graduation in 2015, Charlene then joined Rainbow Tribe and has been in love with the company ever since. Though originally joining just Tribe, she quickly joined Embrace and Linx in 2016; and her most recent choreography bio includes both a jazz and contemporary piece for Embrace in the past two years.
